On Tuesday last week, I had the pleasure of celebrating a very special moment: I successfully defended my doctoral thesis (“Integrating variable fonts with machine learning to create smart, personalized, and intelligent user interfaces”) at Bauhaus-University in Weimar. My dissertation explored the intersection between variable fonts and machine learning to create personalized, smart, and intelligent user interfaces. Here’s a reflection on the journey — and a look ahead.

Thanks to my supervisors: Prof. Markus Weisbeck und Prof. Dr. Christof Windgätter. This work would not have been possible without you. Thank you for your support, guidance and encouragement.

Also, a big thank you to the Ph.D. Examination Board, Prof. Dr. Jan Willmann, Prof. Dr. Jan-Henning Raff, and Dr. phil. Gottfried Schnödl for the valuable discussions and constructive questions during my defense.

I look forward to bring my expertise into a new professional and academic context, and contribute to meaningful projects. I am open to conversations and looking forward to the opportunities ahead.
